Five Core Values

Authors:  PJ Taei, Nick Savrov, Matt Estes

Overview

Our goal is to leverage these values in monthly feedback sessions, new hiring scorecards, employee reviews, employee promotions, employee exits, company all-hands, functional team meetings, and everyday life at Uscreen.

  1. Dream big

  2. Owner’s mentality

  3. Growth mindset

  4. Lead with empathy

  5. Push the pace

“Lots of companies have nice-sounding value statements.  The real company values, as opposed to the nice-sounding values, are shown by who gets rewarded, promoted, or let go.” -- Netflix Culture Deck (link here).

Dream Big

We reject the ordinary.  We approach problem-solving with originality and creativity.  We challenge each other to dream bigger every day at Uscreen.  And we aim to be ‘insanely great’!

Our ‘mission’ at Uscreen is intimidating in its size, scope, daring, and complexity.  We talk about ‘big hairy audacious goals’ -- and then formulate plans to achieve them.

We understand that if our dreams aren’t a little bit scary, we aren’t dreaming big enough.

Owner’s Mentality

Each of us is the ‘CEO’ of our own domain.  Uscreen employees should feel empowered to identify challenges that need to be solved, take ownership, formulate a plan, and execute on that vision.

We are all accountable for the quality and outcome of our work.  We are accountable to each other.  And most importantly, we are accountable to our customers.

Owner’s mentality is about solutions-orientation and a bias towards action. We seek out the hardest problems with the most impact...and believe that no task is ‘beneath’ us.

Growth Mindset

Success comes through hard work and perseverance.  We grow personally and professionally by voluntarily taking on challenges that stretch us outside of our comfort zone.  These experiences shape us...and we come out of them stronger than ever.
